yes, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to YOUR TRUMAN SHOW.

There are too many things that can go wrong but what if everybody's playing the game without really knowing it? What if everyone is complicit in the lie? Yeah, Truman's a legal invention - a human being adopted by a corporation for the purposes of a fake show.
I know, so are you.
You parents assigned you the value of corporate chattle to the country in which you were born when they registered your birth, a future asset to be offset against that nations' debt. Yes, your parents are in on it. And so are your school mates and your teachers and your professors and your colleagues and your wife or husband. Even your priest and rabbi and imam. The authorities have been trained that you're a criminal and a terrorist and they must bring you ALL to justice. They're all just brazenly playing the CORPORATE WAR GAME with you, for you. So that you will always believe the sky is real and the sun isn't just some big lamp and the moon isn't some sort of Ickeian control centre.
"But there'd be cracks in the system, whistleblowers, vigilantes who'd never allow the lie to go on."
And that's what has happened, time and time again.
But the corporate media didn't allow you to listen to the mad rantings of those who'd seen the sky for the plasterboard and paint that it is. That's the whole point of the Truman Show, one man whose life is totally controlled by systems beyond his ken. Now, imagine that on a GLOBAL SCALE, with different cultures catered to and controlled by localised media, religions, financial necessities.
You don't see it because you're not supposed to - you'd rather pay one or all of the new taxes that didn't exist 100 years ago; it's an American list but you get the idea:

For the UK, I guess you could add the TV License Tax, the Digital Receiver Tax and VAT.
Just like in the Truman Show, you're at your safest when you comply with the system, your needs are taken care of (as long as you work as long as they say so and pay your fucking taxes), you can own your own property (as long as you are able to pay back the MASSIVE loan you'll need), you can have liberty in the form of all the necessary gadgets for modern living (car, mobile phone, jet flights, anything you can afford), but try to get out of the system.
And see how unsafe your life suddenly becomes.
This is the most dangerous time for you, dear Free Planeters. You are stood at the top of the stairs at the border of the fake horizon. The EXIT DOOR is ajar and your corporate Oz is speaking down to you from rendered clouds. It's time for you, the readers of this blog, the real people of planet earth, the free human beings of Free Planet, to make that decision.
