Hardcore Texan mouthpiece Alex Jones is difficult to interrupt but Piers Morgan allowed him into New York, into CNN's lair, so let's see the result.
"Ya finished?" asks Morgan. Nope, he wasn't finished. And he's furious!
The really sad thing about this 'debate' is (of course) BOTH SIDES ARE RIGHT. Alex doesn't have his 'well trained militia' it's just THUGS or NUTTERS in control of dangerous weapons. And Piers is right, "It's easier to kill with readily available guns."
I did have a hearty chuckle when President Jones dropped into PROFESSORIAL ENGLISH parlance to lay down some false flag operational stats; that was cute.
PS: I hope this whole 'confrontation' wasn't some stage-managed Elitist Performance i.e. an edition of the ONE OF US show, with garlands and wreaths for the participants.
DAY LATER UPDATE: does Buzz Bissinger (egged on by his female guests) just INCITE SEMI-AUTOMATIC VIOLENCE against a fellow citizen of the USA here? Surely, that's a Terrorist Act under current legislation? Think of all the people who've been arrested for tweeting 'gun/bomb jokes'. Why aren't the Anti Terror Squad storming the CNN studio in black ski masks at this point?

Ah well. I understand Alex Jones's fury, but it's his blustering that has me avoiding watching him most of the time. Sitting here watching the first video and how he blustered and avoided answering Peirs Morgan's question, I think to myself, "Just answer the damn question because the blustering only weakens the argument." All he did was make people who are pro-gun look like total idiots, and that's all he does anymore. His arguments used to make sense. Now he sounds like some racist on the street screaming "the man puts us down" propaganda without listening to anyone else talk.
I wish the point about how guns were banned from England, so knifings went up and now knives are now the ban target could have been extrapolated on. It's a fine example of how taking guns away doesn't solve the problem, and it never will. It's not the guns. It's the people using them, and those people will ALWAYS find a way - be it by getting an illegal gun or finding another effective weapon.
I don't agree with taking away the gun, and it is a statistically proven fact that crime has risen in areas where people's ability to defend themselves has been stripped from them in some fashion or another. This is a statement to me that it doesn't matter if it's guns, knives, or swords that are forbidden. Criminals will get them whether they're legal or not, and criminals will kill whether it's legal or not. Murder was outlawed with the first written codex and yet.. people still murder. How embarrassing as an American to watch him act like that.
I don't like the propaganda about the guns. I don't like that the fact that owning a gun and being able to defend oneself having saved more lives than the shootings has killed is never put in the media. No one talks about the "assault" rifle actually being built not to kill but to wound (except my husband, excessively, being a soldier). The propaganda is just plain disgusting.
Our Supreme Court recently ruled what the 2nd Amendment was all about. It's about the American people having the right to remain a free-standing militia to defend the country from invasion, from corruptive tyranny, from being robbed, from losing the ability to defend ourselves.
Historically what's happening now with countries taking away citizens' right to defend themselves has happened before. This is how the martial arts were born. It didn't work back then either. The countries fell to crime and the people lived in fear.
The founding fathers had reasons for writing the 2nd Amendment. A lot of reasons. So.
I don't go to your home asking you outlaw a lot of things you do that I don't agree with; things that can kill others, that probably have killed others. I wish people wouldn't come to my home telling me how to live my life and punishing me for what someone else did.
I am pro gun. Nothing anyone who is against guns can say will ever change my mind on that matter - and anti-gun people aren't prone to change their minds either. So I don't debate this. There's no point in it.
Just leave me alone and allow me my right to pursue happiness, dammit.
