SNOW JAGUAR
I know there's no such thing (today) so it must be something from ancient times, or even mythology; I still haven't REALLY come to terms with this realisation, but here I go; neck on the astral/reputation line.
SNOW JAGUAR, that's the only creature I can come up with that fits the size and physique of a dream animal I've not only dreamt/blog'd about (see talking with big white cat in living room post) but featured (unwittingly) in a painting I did more than twenty years ago - and I don't do animals. I don't paint them, I mean. It's all there in the blog.
You know, both my HC Unit ideas and my Free Planet ideas all seem to have come 'out of the blue' and they'd be something a 'nature spirit' like a Snow Jaguar (or whatever the hell this thing is) would be concerned about me sharing with the world, no?
I was gonna call this post BIG WHITE CAT or SNOW LEOPARD but neither name fit. It was 'like' a domestic white cat but much bigger and with sheep hair on its chest. Thick long tail. And it had no spots. In fact, I've just finished reading my second Jo Nesbo (detective Harry Hole) novel The Snowman; the first I read was The Leopard across new year. And there were all sorts of synergies coming through as I read it, Skarre was a character in the book and I chanced upon Skara in an old episode of Stargate SG1. And there were others that were even more blatant. Also, I'd read them out of synch, the second one first; not remembering that Katrine Bratt was a female detective character indirectly central to both books.
But I don't really like synchronicities because it's the human brain's job to recognise them; we've evolved this trait so that we can survive longer in the wild.
I'd always suspected any so-called 'spirit guide' or 'dream guardian' would be some sort of ancient fellow maybe Native American or African or something; a shaman, you know, a holy man or someone once connected with the ancient knowledge of the stars and potions. I did not expect a big white cat. And yes, this 'prowling presence' is the only ghostly energy I've ever picked up on. I've never seen ghosts, never noticed spirit people moving about on two feet. But crawling, with big shoulders? I get that all the time. Right now even. It's always the shoulders and the tail. And the snarl, the bared teeth, mouth agape.
In additional fact, if you click on the 'talking with the big white cat' link above, you'll see that I dreamed about it EXACTLY ONE YEAR AGO to the day, January 26th 2012.
Now, that's magic.
DAY LATER UPDATE: no further sightings of the SNOW JAGUAR, but I still find this crawling big-shouldered long-tailed image the easiest to bring up in my mind. It's 'there' and I mean 'there' all the time, even now, as I'm typing this, it's around my ankles, nearby, purring, waiting, impatient for what I don't know. I have done a bit of research into Shamanism (a subject I hadn't looked into before) due to responses on/offline I received yesterday, thanks to all, and I really can't find any reference to such a shamanistic Power Animal 'talking' to its assigned target in any meaningful way the way my Dream Cat did. Sure, there's talk of enhanced/facilitated Clairaudience but not from the mouth of the beast itself. Not with it nonchalantly spieling me like it's telling a story over the garden fence, then getting defensive/aggressive when pressed. That core strength, that threat. I was reminded of Oxford-author Philip Pullman's DAEMONs yesterday as one version of what this thing might be; an inseparable part of us: a contactee experience or living bridge to 'an.oth.er place'.
For me, this is still an Open Case, as are all Free Planet issues; more to come, surely.

That'll be your power animal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_animal). According to a shaman I know, it's a separate thing to your spirit guide. Mine is a mountain lion. Though subsequently it has appeared as Battle Cat from the He-Man cartoon.
Chad,
maybe someone close sent me a jaguar; check this out for a quote,
"When I work with a client in crisis, who may feel his life is beyond repair, I send him home with jaguar. Often my client thinks this is only a metaphor. I know that the life-and-death principle represented by the jaguar will assist him to allow those parts of himself that need to die to do so, as well as to regain hope and bring new balance from chaos. Jaguar energy can be summoned to contain the chaotic spread of a cancer or of a fire through the forest. It can be summoned to assist a dying person find peace in the chaos that accompanies the dying process, and guide her journey back to the world of Spirit."
Wow, seems like ... wow.
