Back - refreshed from my Xmas holiday in France and raring to kick start 2005's creative endeavours.

I got some more vital work done on my HC Unit theory. I really should start looking for a publisher for this theory as I've got only good feelings about where it's headed.

In other news (and true to form for my last few French visits) I've started a new novel. This one's gonna be real interesting. It's about YOU. The reader. Yes, you out there reading this. It's gonna be done in such a way that you'll believe I've been stalking you, every one of you, you'll be embedded in my nightmare and be able to participate in the adventure, too.

Again, let me say that I am very pumped about the coming year's inventive journey. Hope you're all still along for the ride.

In other news: I seem to share the FRONT PAGE of Really Scary . com with none other than John Merz (oh, I'm sure he'll love that). It's reviews 3 and 4 of the HINO HORROR series of manga comics that DHP are putting out (I think they're gonna publish the entire series of 200 comics). As you'll see from my review copy, these are great fun horrific disgusting and cheery little Japanese imports (printed in English for the first time).

Hey, all you so-called M.B.O.T.D. professionals out there causing mayhem and chaos with your campaigns of hate and harrassing Beverly Horsely with abusive emails about her husband's very real illness, you should all be ashamed of yourselves. Have a nice paranoid, schizophrenic time while I'm out of the country for Xmas. When I get back, I want to see loads more of your lying, inane Comments on my blog. Don't forget now, I don't give a flying fuck who you hate.

I've been working on it for quite a while in a few forms but yesterday afternoon, I put the final touches to a brand new 3,350 word short story called MY POLYMORPHIC LOVER - it's an unashamedly romantic piece. Yes, sci-fi-horror-erotica fans, you heard that right. A romantic story by Mike Philbin. What is the world coming to? As usual, it has a basis in the surreal medium of dreams and is not at all your run of the mill 3-act romantic twaddle, instead it's a little odd and bizarre (nothing new there then...)

Those who have subscribed to the newsletter (it's on the old website until is complete) will soon recieve a special sneak preview of it. If you haven't already signed up, do so now, or you'll miss this bonus feature.

In other news, I've been working with programmer Chad Goulding on a new 3D game idea and I have a couple of novellas and a full novel out with two different American publishers. Still waiting on news about the Spidered Web interviews (serialisation). More news as it comes in.

First critical response in [with the names removed to protect the innocent]:

Dear Mr. Philbin,

Thank you for your recent submission to **************. Unfortunately your short story titled 'My Polymorphic Lover' does not meet our current needs. It was very surreal, and that isn't what I'm looking for at all for this anthology, nor could it be considered a 'romance' by the standards of that genre which we use. There was no real erotic content.

Good luck with your writing.

You'll know it. It's that new U2 song. Who? U2. You know, they did the album The Joshua Tree when they used to be good.

This new song starts:
"Quatorze..." they then go on to sing about Ola and other really basic Spanish phrases.

According to a reliable source the opening to this new U2 song translates as:
"Fourteen..." I mean what are they trying to say? Is it enigmatic and deep or did someone really mean to say 1,2,3,4? Odd. Maybe there's a really story behind this surreal beginning. Hey, it's surreal, eh, I should really like it, no? Well, no.

We all know that light (in a stream of photons) is emitted from an energised source, say a light bulb. But what if we play devil's advocate for just a moment and say that light doesn't have to shoot out of a source to produce a standard light beam.

It could leap into a source...

The good thing about this is we don't need photons anymore. Not matter-generated photons anyway. If we spin light's direction, we get this very new theory where the entire universe falls into an energised source. This gives us a wholly new view of the universe and how physics works. It also borrows the entire 'multi-dimensional breadth' of the universe in these transactions.

All "debt"s are settled by Universal Equilibrium at the speed of light (because that's how fast light is).

All "debt"s are settled locally, at the periphery of the source - this 'local' zone obviously expands as the "light" effect propagates into the universe at c.

You'll see from this illustration that in both cases the beam of light is emitted from the energised source BUT flipping the way light is generated has emmense significance for further study.

I'm still convinced there's a better explanation for Red Shifted light (other than universal expansion via Big Bang dogma) and I'll be posting something to that effect in a future post.

Here it is then, the PG13 rated story EMAILING FRIENDS on the American site Camp Horror. Also in this December issue is a short article on my forthcoming biography THE LIFE AND DEATH OF HERTZAN CHIMERA. It's all good press.
